Monica, you might want to lead the prayer for the Haiyan event of Mom with this prayer that we recite daily here during meal, with an addition addressing the issue of the day.
Grace Before Meal - "Bless us, O Lord, and this, your gift, which we are about to receive from Your bounty. May this food nourish our mortal bodies and animate our souls that we may keep reaching for You and serving You.

"We praise You and thank You for all the graces You pour on us. Grant that our brothers and sisters all over the world, especially the hungry and the needy may all share and benefit from Your goodness."

Add: "Thank you, Lord, for this gathering of Your people, instruments of your generosity in bestowing Your graces to our unfortunate brothers and sisters victimized by Haiyan typhoon. Hear their cries, Lord, and heal their crushed hearts that they may rise from the rubble of this disaster and come to You with the light of faith, hope, and love. We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen"

Norma Reyes Am all right, thank you...except, i.e., for the angst in the heart over what's happening in the Philippines...more reason enough for all of us to continue praying... My Philippine trip? I had a most wonderful time...marvelous bonding with Nene, Yoli, Mirabel, and other Philet friends! I also enjoyed meeting with Louie!!!
